Straws
Recently as of today the NBA put a ban on chewing straws during a game. Caron Butler who just was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a block buster deal, brought this to the leagues attention. Ever since he was a kid he has always played his games with a straw in his mouth. Now we arn't talking about a big straw hanging out of his mouth, but a chewed up one, similar to gym. I can see how he likes this. Sometimes the plastic can make a nice thing to chew on. I can also see the league's side of it, may cause choking and it might set a bad example for kids. But Butler has been in the league for 7 years. Thats 7! Nobody has said anything to him in the years past. Playing for the Washington Wizards might be a cause. That is a smaller market for a NBA team, not saying that DC is a small place, but in the basketball world they are no power house. Now the Mavs on the other hand are more polished. So now in a bigger market the straw chewing becomes a big deal? Get out of here. This is crazy, athletes like many other people get into routines and are almost superstitious. And as evidence on monday he went 3-10 from the field finishing with 8 points, half of what he averages. What I think is let the player do as he wishes, just because it was spreading to the rest of his team members makes an issue makes no sense. How about the team is trying to create chemistry and get accustom to the new teammates.

National signing day
There comes that time of year where the rich get richer and the poor seem to dream big with what little they have. That's right its national football college signing day. Its one thing if you are a power house, like USC and Tennessee who have already gotten verbal commitments for a couple middle school kids. But what about those teams we tend to over look, or more importantly the players that are kinda shifted through and forgotten about. See I am a Syracuse fan true and true, and its been a rough couple of years as we have seen the ass of the recruits come to the dome. This year I can feel a little love heading the CUSE's way. Syracuse has posted one of its deepest classes in a while, landing 31 recruits from 9 different states. Which includes five players from Florida. Syracuse hasn't done a good job finding the right players for the system, but as we start Head Coach Doug Marrone's second full year recruiting things are starting to look up. In this class, landing a quarterback. Jonny Miller, who is coming off of 2 straight state titles in Colorado, and fellow quarterback John Kinder from Lawrence high school in NY. Both are mobile quarterbacks, who can make a play with their feet as well as their arms. These two can fit perfectly in a west coast system which Marrone has been teaching.
On the Defensive side of the ball, Syracuse has landed a lock down corner back that they have been missing. Jeremi Wilkes comes to the wintry weather from sunny Florida. Seen from the tape, he doesn't seem to let a play really develop on his side of the field. If a shut down corner is what we were looking for, I have a funny feeling this one might be our answer. Things are looking up for the blue and orange, and coach Marrone has the team, staff, and community on the same page. Lets hope that Darrell Gross can give him a little longer leash so that the rest of the puzzle can fall into place in the coming years. These remain on paper our prize recruits, but work ethic can change all of that. Lets hope the players will buy into Marrone's system too.

blog vrs reagular web sites
Bloggers beware, there is some risky business in the building. Coming from a stand point of someone who is just blogging for the first time, it seems we could easily write what ever the hell we want to on here. Not saying that you cant write anything that you want on your website, but this is strictly something that you can write and post. Nothing more to it, no links, no pictures from other sites, no contact information. Its as simple as type and click and you got whatever you want up there. Sites are way more in depth with the amount of work you could put in.
